Default 96 383 stroker HELP!!!!

I have a 96 z28 with a new 383 stroker in it. I have replaced the opti, ICM, Coil, all the harnesses and the car is still acting up. When it acts up I get no spark to the to the icm-coil-or opti. It seems to happen when the car is hot and it is at 180 degrees the fans do kick on and it never goes above 180. It then proceeds to die and it will just crank and crank and crank till the battery is dead but i just noticed that if I put the car in nuetral and roll it backwards or forwards I can hear a clicking sound and I jump in and the car fires right up like there was no problem. If anyone has any sort of solutions for me please help me I have searched the forums up and down and can't find anything similar.

I don't get power to the coil when this happens which makes me wonder if it is the opti but i just replaced it in the past 1200 miles and there are no leaks and i havent cleaned my engine bay at all and normaly I don't drive it in the rain. Is there a way to test the opti with out tearing it all apart?

My question here is what you said about rolling the car back and forth until something clicks, then it starts. That would leave me to belive that the problem is with the transmission or drivetrain. Do you have an A4 or an M6? If you have an M6, try to see if the clutch sensor is on its way out. If it's an A4, maybe the shift linkage is off and when you roll it back and forth, it "pops" into place.

About the car dying after it gets hot, you could have a bad ICM. I know you just replaced it, but they do come bad. Have it checked out.

If it shuts off when you stomp it, I am almost certain its your fuel pump. check your fuel pressure.

Good luck and kill Rustanks!!

I have a fuel pressure guage ran and everytime it dies I still have fuel pressure so i know it isnt the pump and I am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with fuel becuz it doesn't spit and sputter and die it just completely cuts out and tach goes to zero there is no spitting and sputtering.
