Default 95z28 - fuel pressure at fuel rails?

I've known that my fuel pump has been failing for a while now. Well, it definitely won't start at all anymore. My funds are very limited so I'm trying to find the least expensive way to replace my fuel pump. Here's my question: Instead of replacing my pump in the tank, can i add an electric fuel pump outside of my tank and just bypass my existing one?

well yes u can but u will have to buy a different pickup for the tank so u will have to take the tank out or cut a hole in it anyways and will probly spend as much on the pick up, fittings, misc and pump.

thanks craby, i appreciate the reply. i have been looking through jegs' catalogue and was wondering if adding a manual pump to the block might be an option then? i suppose the i'd still have a problem with the pickup, though. any thoughts?

do it right and i think ull be happier in the long run. im not sure u can get a mechanical pump that has the pressure needed for fuel injection.
