Default speedmeter not working!!!

ok i have a 93 z28 camaro. the problem started with tranny leaking from the speed sensor. so i change out the speed sensor. i take the car out for a spin an notice the speedometer wasnt working so i tooking the car back to the house. now i when i pull up in front of my garage i proceeded to clean the remaining tranny fluid that got on the ground and i notice this red small looking gear. so i jack the car up and an take the sensor out again and notice a another red gear inside the tranny. so after inspecting this other small red gear i found on the ground i notice it was suppose to coonect to the back of the speed sensor. so i connect it back and hook the sensor back up. now i crank the car up of course adding tranny fluid too it. i test drive the car around the neighborhood and the speedometer still its working and shortly afterwards my check engine light comes on and then my oil pressure drops to 0 and the check gage light comes on. now i am suck. could i have cause that much damage by riding the car around the area without that small red gear that connects to the spped sensor. i need help please what else could i do to fix this problem thanks.

the oil pressure switch/sensor is under the car by the oil filter. you may have jared the wire lose when you were workin on the speedo.
