Default 94z acting really wierd

as of a couple weeks ago my car will hesitate really bad upon heavy acceleration, but it does it in a wierd way, it wont hesitate until 3000RPM, then the power will kick in a few seconds later, then it will hesitate again, so its just power hesitate power hesitate. but something ive never experienced happened a couple days ago, the symptoms stopeed and changed. now it has no hesitation, just not as muh power, and it will now idle really rough, run somewhat rough, and when at idle, there is a noticable pop from the exhaust every few seconds, but it is not consistant. it sounds like, pop.....pop pop...........pop.....pop pop pop..... pop. im now thinkin it hay be a faulty PCM since the symptoms changed all of the sudden. what do you guys think?

Whens the last time you had a tune up? I had a recent tune up and ran some fuel system cleaner thru it and it ran alot smoother, idle evened out and my exhuast is more even.

I had a tune up, a new water pump (was leaking on my opti) and a new opti. My plugs and wires were from 94, the guy left em in the car after he tuned it and ported the heads... When my car runs, it runs nicely.. but since my p/s pump fell off i cant drive my car ne more lol.

Sounds like an opti issue to me![:@]
But...before you go spending all the money to replace that, get new plugs and wires and fuel filter and clean the injectors etc. Pretty much a full tune up, it could solve the issue, but it sure sounds like an opti issue. How many miles are on your car?

Full tune up as 95slvrZ28, and if still bad check the exhaust back pressure as the cat may be partially clogged.

The opti has a tendancy to drop out around 100K usually, but check all the other stuff before you do the opti, it isn't fun or cheap[sm=headbang.gif]

what type of spark plugs should i get? cuz i know different spark plugs are hotter than others, and getting ones too hot or too cold can **** **** up. all i have done to it is a flowmaster exhaust, and a K&N intake. also, should i just run some injector cleaner with the gas? or is that **** over-rated?

You should run the stock AC Delco platinum plugs, unless you're running nitrous you really don't need a special purpose spark plug, just stay away from "split fire" and stupid gimmicks like that.
