Default 94 z28 tps and transmission problem

i recently had an issue with my 94 z28 shifting funny i dropped the transpan and put a new filter and gasket in the trans was still a little bit funny the car has a lot of miles on it but the trans would shift through all the gears i heard on a forum that the tps sensor could cause the transmission to sat up i replaced the tps and now the car is idling very high and now has a service engine light the car also now won't shift at all its like its stuck in 1st or 2nd gear any body know what could b going on

unplug your tps and see if the prongs and the plugin are ok and clean. then test the tps. should have .67 volts to it and it should rise steady when throttle is increased. not jumpy. this link shows how to adjust. https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...-sensor-70605/

Check your VSS (Vehicle speed Sensor) in the tail of the transmission. Over time they get dirty and may have metal filings on the magnet. If so, clean it up or replace it. This sensor can cause the issues you're having.
