Default 93 z28 LT1

Hey guys, im new here so bare with me. I own a 1993 z28 camaro, 350 LT1 4 speed automatic. Currently i do not have the cash to rebuild the engine nor do a type of supercharger or tubro. I was wondering what's a good but inexpensive way to increase horsepower. I'm currently stock at 275hp, i would like to be 310 or 320hp. I was thinking about doing a K&N intake system, and changing out the 52mm throttle body with an Edlebrock BBK 58mm. Also changing the exhaust to a SLP loudmouth, i heard they are great and give a nice horsepower gain. But anyways, any ideas would be awesome. Wish i could just throw in a supercharger, but too much for me lol.

Just save your money in that case....

It's going to take heads/head work and a cam at a minimum to get anywhere near your target.

Go ahead with the CAI, but save your money on the TB, the one you have is more than enough. Put in a set of headers, and go with the cat back instead. With the CAI and exhaust mods you shold be over 300HP at the flywheel.

Engines are rebuilt when they are worn out. It will accomplish nothing to rebuild a good engine except to lighten your wallet

Like Pete said, go for the CAI and full header back exhaust(make sure to get high flow cats and a mandrel bent Y pipe, the Y on the F-bodies kills flow). Another little thing you can use to increase HP is get a new housing for your mass airflow sensor, the grating on the stock one reduces flow. You can get one made out of plastic(lighter than the aluminum one) and it doens't have a grates, it'll get you a few HP and it isn't too pricy. Vette magazine took an LT1 and started doing some mods. After they replaced the stock intake with an aftermarked cold air, they replaced the MAF sensor housing, it cost $50, and got them 9 rwhp and 7 rwtq, that's not too shabby...(the housing was made by Mid America Motorworks)

You can probably find almost anything you need at www.summitracing.com
If you can't find it there, there are some wonderful sites that sponsor the forums that are good to order from, and sometimes they have special sales going on for forum members.
