im not sure if my opti needs to be replaced, yesterday driving to work and then back home, when i was sitting in drive at a light, it would shake real bad
does anyone know where i can just buy the distributor, i already have cap and rotor and i just need the inside electrical parts, if not does anyone know where i can get a 93-94 opti for the cheapest ?

I would say instead of getting the GM opti, go for the MSD replacement. It's only 100 bucks more than a new opti, and you can buy parts to rebuild it if it goes out in the future, and it's not as prone to leaking. You can also advance the timing a bit.

the ventalation thing is very controversial, i will stay with the nonvented, less chance water ever gets in there the longer it should last, ive seen nonvented opti's last over 150k miles. if you go with the vented, i forget the site but this guy had the best install on how to put an extra hole in the opti and run them both inside the car, that way theres no way to get water in it and it actually is venting the entire opti, not just the right side.
i have also heard a few horror story's about the new MSD opti's, i guess there is a chance the rotor wheel in the opti can be warped from the factory and cause big damage, but if its not messed up when you first start it up, it would be the ideal way to go.
