Not sure about what diameter to run if you just want gears. But if you want a whole rear that can handle a lot of power, this link should help you out. |
I'm pretty sure that your rear is a 7.5.
|
yep 10 bolt 7.5, whats in the car, you need the carrier for the 323 or higher to work with the 373s
|
basically im just planning on buying gears and a rebuild kit. i got a 6 speed. So I can go ahead and order the gears with a diameter of 7.5 an i'll be good?
|
10-bolt gear sets will be listed as 7.500/.625 dia and depending on the ratio will require a 2 or 3 series carrier. What gears are you running now????

its all stock in the rear end. manual 6, i believe theyre 3.42's in there now

"I belive" when buying parts is not the best method . So what is it??? |
if you havent done a rearend rebuild before i would not suggest you do it. just one misstake (the list of possible misstakes is not short) and the rearend is toast in a short time. get good gears or they whine.

Going from 3.42's to 3.73's isn't a very big jump, not worth the expense in my opinion. Another option is putting on smaller diameter tires. Changing from your 25.7" diameter tires to 24" will give you the same result as the 3.73 gears would with your current tires.
