get used to it or stay pissd off. the design and angle of the fuel tank on the 4th gen camaro makes the fuel gage drop slow at first and fast as it gets emty. my first 93 ran out of gas at 1/8th tank. the one i have now runs out on e but drops from 1/4 really fast. as far as i know all the 4th gens are way over full on the gage when tank is full.

Yeah, thats a factory flaw. my car has left me stranded when the guage read 1/4 tank. the full mark is well above F too. Just fill her up around a 1/4 tank and you won't have any prblems. And if you get mad at the gas guage just wait till the optispark dies :-P is this your first camaro?

Mine is actually at 1/4 tank when it's marked on the gauge as 1/2. So, since you never want to let your car run below 1/4 tank for the sake of your fuel pump, I always just fill up when I get to 1/2. Keep an eye on how much gas you put in, figure out where the 1/4 tank is actually on your gauge and fill it up there every time.

mine sits above the F untill im about to run out completely then it will drop below E when i stop at stop signs and then will fluxuate between 1/4 and past E when i take off... so i just reset my trip odom. everytime i get gas... the first time i saw it didnt work i drove it till it sputtered then remembered the range i had on the trip odom.

in that case i would say somebody may have tweeked the arm for the gage in the tank when they were changing the pump.

same problem with my 4th gen z28, whenever i brake or stop at a stop sign it'll drop almost a half tank then jump back up when i accelerate. same happens when i make right turns. any chance a new (possibly aftermarket) fuel guage will fix this?

It's a problem with the sending unit, not the gauge itself. If your aftermaket fuel gauge has a different sending unit, maybe. Some of the problems arise from the shape of the tank as well.
