1995 3.4 oil pump drive "O" ring repair

Default 1995 3.4 oil pump drive "O" ring repair

just got it out of the shop, gasket $12.82 "O" ring $3.91 labor $375.00 it is done. any feedback on whether i took it in the shorts on labor? I know it's a pain to work back there but i was alittle shocked

they had to drop the pan. how many hours. i would have to think about it before i did it myself. its very close to worth it from my point of view.

The oil pump drive comes out the top of the lower intake manifold, where a conventional distributor would be, not through the oil pan. It's easier to access when the upper intake manifold is removed, but if intake gaskets weren't on the bill, they were probably able to work around it. Don't know the hourly rate where you are, but around here $375 would mean anywhere between 3-5 hours. Not going to take a skilled mechanic near that much time, unless he ran into some difficulties. But, what you were charged might be "book price", not how long it actually took them.

thanks it was something that i might of been able to do but who has time anymore??
