1994 z28 suggestions

Default 1994 z28 suggestions

I have a '94 z28 has the lt1, automatic tranny, has a shift kit and a little stall in it, the motor has been chipped so the shift point have been changed along with the rev limiter has been set at 6500 rpms, it has 411 gear in the rear end, bought my car like that couple weeks ago. cold air intake moroso, it has the flowmaster 3 inch catback exhaust with nice
chrome tips ,it has a new grant steering wheel. give suggestion on how to change it and what i should do with the car i like speed so ya..gotta beat the mustangs around even tho it should already, but ya suggestions would be nice

stock lt1 is not setup to be reving to 6500. what chip are we talking about? 94 is not set up to be tuned using a chip. you have to send the computer in to be tuned or tune using aldl cable.

ok so should i sell this car and try buying a stock looking one and build onto it?
idk seems to be easier to do. if so what year do you suggest? im not rich by no means lol

you need to learn more about the car you have. let see a picture of the engind compartment and a few various areas of the engine like each side so we can see. look for anything that doesnt look stock. the video sounds like your reving till the limiter starts messing with the spark or the limiter/chip is failing.

1996 or later, something with OBD II

I'd avoid OBD2 cars. You gain another catalytic converter (complicates header install), two O2 sensors (post cats), an EVAP sensor to crowd the passenger side of your intake manifold, and a nagging PCM you can't fiddle with for cheap.

I have a friend with a 95 Z28 (OBD1 computer with an OBD2 connector). He uses a $60 ALDL-USB cable to connect his PCM to a laptop for easy scanning/tuning, that way he can get live data without paying for an expensive scanner.
