1 of 3 cam choice

ok just like the guy that needed help with his earlier.. i needhelp with mine... i got 1.6 rockers, hardened pushrods... springs are the same just brand new,and heads are getting ported as we speak... i got pacesetter shorties and Y... with custom exhaust, made just like GMMG but with two 2 1/2 inch powesticks instead... got a 1le elbow from trick flow, slp air foil, K&N CAI, and my motor is in the shop right now getting rebuilt... we are just looking for a good cam that is pretty streetable... got 3.42 posi if that helps... i was looking at three different ones in particular... but if you guys know of one that would be better suited please let me know... here are the three i was looking at...

comp 07-304-8
comp 07-305-8
and LT4

i would like one with more midrange and low end... top end is great too but i just like the torquey feel bettr...

Thank you guys so much...

i think that the best cam u could get is if u called up lloyd elliot and told him everything u wanted and had him custom grind u one. the cams u hav listed r all pretty mild u could look into the xfi 268 the xfi 280 is a little bigger and about as big as id go.

call comp cams or email them and they tell them what kind of cam youre looking for and they can point you in the right direction

RE: 1 of 3 cam choice

what do you mean you got the same spring only brand new? stock replacements? yeah those won't work if you're doing a cam swap, they won't handle the higher lift. otherwise the cam advice these guys gave would be super. however, who's porting your heads? talk to them about a cam that would go great with your setup

ok yeah they are the stockrepacements... butmy motor builder changed those pretty quickly lol, i caled them up and they say the CC 07-466-8 or otherise know as 268XFI HR13... the guy that is doing it, is my family engine builder... he has done all of our work for 13 years now on all our race/street cars... he is a graduate from WYOTECH and that is also where i will be attending this coming fall semester... so this is the setup i have as of now 355 lt1 new scat crank and new bottom end the heads are p&p also w/ SS valves and new valve seals...i got 1.6 rockers, hardened pushrods, and some spings( i don't know the exact specs on them) all i know is that they have an inner and outer spring, he kinda lost me when ewa talking about them..lol pacesetter shorties and Y,custom exhaust(refer to top)1le elbow, slp air foil, K&N CAI, 3.42 posi, hyprtech stg 2 pcm, with CC466...what do you guys think? and be honest please.. but keep n mind this is my car i amtaking to college so it will notbe driven alot... one other thing i was wonderin please don"t make fun of me 4 this but other than the length what is the big difference between LT's and Shorties?... people keep telling me i should have gone with LT'sinstead...

LT's have a better torque curve. give me some specs on the cc466. what are you looking for out of the car? i'm guessing you have comp beehive springs or maybe even the crane 10308 kit. good kit, handles up to .600 lift i believe. who ported your heads? what do they flow? those are all questions you need to be asking so you can get the cam that will work best with your setup and what you want to achieve. do yourself a favor...have your engine builder call lloyd elliott. he's an lt1 guru that is a great guy and will help you pick out a cam suitable for what you need. another question is emissions when looking at cams. visit www.elliottsportworks.com and either call him or shoot him an email
