How do you tell on a 1999 wether it is a Z or not? i kno it has a different enxhaust but the car that i am hoping to by has the regular V8 exhaust. Is there any other way to see if it is a Z? I was thinkni that maybe the guy put the Z tags on there jus tryin to raise the price of it.

 

There is no 'base' V8, it's either a Z28 or SS

and it will have "Z28" or "SS" emblems all over

no, the stopped the base & RS V8s after the 3rd genaration. So if it has an LS1 under the hood its a Z28.

if its a v6 with z emblems another way to tell is speedometer. v6's only go to like 115.

 

ya the v6 is 125 and the V8 155
