Default Will 4.11 help my 1/4 ET, maybe put me in the 10's?

Curent setup is in sig. My curent gear is 3.70. Im making about 480rwhp. I went to the track this past friday and made a motor pass this was the result.

60'....1.60
330....4.59
1/8....7.11
mph....97.38
1000....9.30
1/4....11.15
mph....121.89

If I change to the 4.11's how much would this help my 60' & 1/4 time and would my trap speed go up or down? I'm looking for possibly a 10 sec ET if I change to this gear?

Could make it close. As long as you still have traction you should be able to get there . And we expect video's.

What transmission gear is your car in as you go through the speed trap?
What RPM are you turning as you now go throgh the speed trap?
What RPM is you engine making peak power?
What is the red line RPM?
Without the above info it hard to tell what effect the 4.11 gears are going to have.

Things to consider: The car does not accelerate during a gear shift, you don't want to have to shift into the next gear close to the finish line, but you don't want to over rev either.

All things being equal, as a rule of thumb, for best ET the engine should be hitting the red line just before you cross the finish, and for best MPH the engine should be revving just above the peak power RPM as you cross the finish.

Will this help you to answer my question?
I make peak hp at 6400rpm and max tor is at 5400rpm. My shift points are at 6800rpm at the moment. Rev limiter is set at 7200. Im crossing the line at about 5800 rpm in 3rd gear and this is with the 370 gear. Sorry I didnt think to post this when I first started this thread.
WIll 4.11 work for me?

Also will I need to change my shift points or keep them the same?

As far as im aware the gear change with throw rpms up by about 1.11. Which means if you ran the same speed 121mph as now crossing at 5800, this would be shifted upto about 6450rpm right on peak power.

HOWEVER, the gear will mean you have more acceleration so provided you can still get the power down ( i assume you can due to stall and drag radials) you will prob have a slightly faster ET speed. This means you'd run through the the 1/4 at more than 6450rpm, but i THINK it will only push upto 6700-6800rpm ish if we say you are gaining 0.3s from your ET

If im wrong someone please correct me on this, but I think you would just get away with it and get into 10s and wont hit the limiter

Would using this gear be ok to spray 150 shot with the 28" tires that im currently runing?
Or maybe I should wait untill I make a pass with these new gears and find out where Im at on motor first?

Well turns out I didn't have 3.70 gears I had 3.89's but I went ahead and switched to the 4.11's. So far Ive droped .15 off my time and get this from 3.89's to 4.11's I picked up 3.9 almost 4 mph. I was at 121.89 and after gears went to 125.79. And ended up runing a 10.994

Sorry I forgot to take the camera with me. But a buddy of mine got it on tape while filming his Shelby GT500 vs my camaro SS and I'm having him make a coppy of it for me. I think you'll guys be surprised when you watch the video, coming soon.
