Default Want to buy a Camaro SS/Z28

Hey there I am new to this website and many of these post are helpful. But I wanted to ask a few questions of my own.

I want to get a good, reliable, and fast Camaro. I have seen a few that are cheap ($6,500-$7,000) but they have 150K miles. I am 17 and I obviously want a fast car so I will be adding performance parts to it. Is 150K miles fine? will it still run strong or will it break on me. Also, is it even worth putting $2,000 in parts in a car with a lot of miles? I want to have a FAST Camaro that would beat many stock/slightly modified Mustangs and other sports cars. I also would like it loud so people can hear me. What parts do you guys recommend that are cheap and good? Or what good combination are out there? Also, how much are you guys paying for insurance? I hear it's expensive

thanks!

Well i wouldnt just want a camaro cause its fast. Me personally i just like them period. Anyway im 18 and i have two camaro's, a 1995 3.4L v6 and a 1999 SS SLP. My insurance for both of them is 138/month BUT i only have liability on the 95 and i have full coverage on the 99. My v6 has 177,xxx miles on it and occasionally has overheating trouble (i heard they chew through head gaskets, not sure if its true) if you told us ur price range we could maybe help you.
