transmission advice if anyone can lend a hand

i have a 99' z28 automatic. the transmission has never been re-built as far as i know. it has 118,400 miles on her. my question is about the transmission. when she shifts into 2nd and starts to climb, about mid-way to 3rd at 1500 RPM's there is this sort of stall. the RPM needle barely twitches when this happens. sometimes it happens right after shifting to 3rd but mostly mid-way through second. You can just feel that it's not pulling for a second and then breaks out of it and the rest is fine. Just wondering if this is possibly normal or if its small sign to possibly impending doom. thanks for the imput

Simple stated, if the RPM climb and the MPH do not, something is slipping, most likely the transmission. If you stomp on the gas and nothing happens for a while, RPM not incrasing (bogging), then most likely there is a problem with the engine.

i was expecting that sort of response. i believe its the transmission. i know prices arent the same everywhere but what is a decent price range for a transmission rebuild?

Sure seems like your bands/clutches are slipping... expect it to get worse over time. I had the same thing happen, but more pronounced and had the trans replaced under extended warranty in my SS.

is it possible to get the bands tightened or fixed before it does get progressively worse?
