Default thinkin about buying a 2000 SS,,, QUESTIONS!

As you can see, im looking into buying a 2000 SS. 6 speed, takin great care of. Has about 75000 on it. Cosmetically its fine sept for paint chips from rock roads on the hood. Is there ANYTHING that i should keep an eye out for? I already have a 89 RS, but they are two different cars. So i was looking for the typical problems. Also, the driver side power window is out. Hes askin 10 for it. It also needs new tires, so i think im gona try and talk him down a little, maybe to 9. So let me know what yall think.

10k is a pretty good deal. Make sure you check the trans, 3rd gear goes out on them if they are beat on (syncros and blocker rings). Other wise just treat it like you would any other used car, by that I mean look it over very well.

It's been driven hard.

Any car with a V8 in the hands of a MALE under 60 has been driven hard, no question. LOL

Best bet is to look the body over well for work, let the car idle for a bit, take it for a ride & drive it for all it's worth. With any used car, but especially one with some miles, listen closely to noises and make sure you have some extra money in your budget to do some work to get it running smoothly.

Driven hard or not...How much harder do you think it was driven than he's going to drive it?

True.

Just ask him to tell you it wasn't driven hard. That'll solve it

as jd said watch out for the trans 3rd gear is sumtimes a ***** on the t56 and the rear ends like to blow up other than that its a SS so its been driven hard its whole life check and see if he has records of the work hes done on it and such. u should be good to go. just as an fyi trans build is like 2700 and rear is about the same give or take sum

I sell you mine for $6’000. It has 75000 miles but it is an automatic. The car is listed on the SS registry. Black does need some cosmetic work.
