SLP Lid and Air Filter?
Hey guys I was thinkin about getting the SLP Lid for my 02 Z28. Is this a good idea? I heard its a pretty cheap and easy way to get up to 10 hp. I'm trying to do the little things for more hp at the moment hehe. What kind of air filter should I get for it? Right now I have the stock K&N air filter with the stock air lid. Plz any help guys?

the K&N filter didn't come in the car stock, but i think you mean the stock sizeK&N filter, if so that filter would be fine with an aftermarket lid. Go ahead and get the SLP, its a basic neccesity and you'll notice a difference.

i mean the K&N filter didn't come stock, You or somebody put it in there, therefore it is the size of the stock one. I gotmy lidfrom slponline.com. I think it was like $102 for my 02 SS, but im sure you can get somewhere else for like ten bucks cheaper

How do you like the lid and smooth bellows? I'm thinkin about gettin em both with maybe a cold air induction kit. Did you feel a noticeable difference?
Also, Idk if I have a K&N filter or not, I just know there's a K&N sticker on top the lid and it was already there when I bought the car so I just assumed it was a K&N filter.

i noticed a diffenerce and i have both as well.Go ahead and get them both. As far as the filter just pop the lid off and check to see if its a K&N. Im sure everyone knows what they look like.

Cool, I think i'll go ahead and do that then. What about a cold-air induction kit? I know you don't have one but is it worth the money?
[align=left]If its a K&N filter are all of them "cleanable"(able to use again and again)? And how often would you replace the filter? is it every 50,000 mi?
I went through www.installuniversity.com and completed the "free ram air" for my car, its pretty neat. You should check it out. All you do is take out the filter and cut the other half of plastic out in the lower air box assembly and then you cut some of the plastic air baffle below the air box. It shows step by step in the tutorial. What it does in the end is decreases the air temperature significantly giving your car some extra horsepower and better air. I noticed a difference in throttle response and horsepower after the install

I just checked it and yes, its a confirmed K&N air filter. So obviously the previous owner put it in before me. So from what I can tell he put on an after market full exhaust and the K&N air filter. lol I'm hopin I might have missed the supercharger he put in! haha nooooot i wish

LOL yea ill check out that ram air thing. About the filter if it looks dirty, just go get the recharge kit from any parts store and they last forever. Well good luck with the lid and bellows, keep us posted

RE: SLP Lid and Air Filter?
thanks, what would you recommend after the lid and bellows? so far I have an aftermarket exhaust(not sure what kind) and a K&N air filter that was already on the car when I got it. The only thing I put on it was the ram air so far.
