Default Service engine light on

I just installed a SLP exhaust on my 1999 SS camaro and the Service engine light came on. Any suggestions on what it could be? I only did it from the Y pipe back.

If the service light is lit, there is a trouble code set. Scan the PCM & see what the code is, otherwise keep guessing & throw parts at it. However, if you disturbed the cats and O2 sensors, you need to check your work and make sure all the stuff is where it is supposed to be.

Does the check engine light stay on or blink? If it stays lit then it usually means its a fuel, exhaust, or emmisions issue. I dont know if that helps but if you have emissions on your car maybe something isnt hooked up?
