New and looking to buy 4th gen LS1
and let me be clear without the risk of ticking off a 15 year old.
I'm not a kid.
A hardship license is exactly that
Let me lay out your story so far
you were given a $15,000 check from mom to go buy a camaro
you also have a brand spanking new 2011 genesis coupe as a daily driver
you are doing a lot of posting but no purchasing with the $15,000.
You now claim to have a hardship license and I am quite familiar with them and don't need a link from the Internet. Why do you have a hardship license? I'm sure you will now respond not with financial hardship because of the story you've been posting, but your answer will be that your family ranch is so vast and large or that your ranch is so vast and there are no school buses to get you. But, financial hardship must be shown that your folks couldn't drive you.
Frankly, if you are just young and excited about cars then good for you, welcome to the forums and learn, post, ask questions etc because we're all car guys (and some girls).
You could be spending your time on less productive things and encouraging a 15 year old on automobiles is better than some of the things you could be doing with your spare time.
So, you don't need to try to justify your hardship license here on an anonymous forum.
If nothing else, carry with you words that I have taught my own children. "tell the truth because it's always easier to remember which story you told".
With that I'm sure you are now PO'd because TIG has in some backhanded way called your story into question. Frankly, I could care. One more excited 15 YO interested in automobiles is better than a 15 YO causing vandalism or out getting drunk and high.
So sit back, learn, contribute and have fun. In short order you will see a new thread from me about a 3rd gen I'll be buying and restoring over the next year. I encourage you to challenge me, and ask questions as to why I've done what I've done with the restoration project.
cheers

So $15,000 for a Camaro eh? That is more than I paid for my Trans Am + exhaust + rear end work. Get the lowest miles, cleanest car you can find. For $15k you can get a SS or WS6 T/A with under 40k miles around me, hell I paid $13,000 for mine with 41k miles!
Around my area for about $15,000 you can get a LS1 camaro or firebird with about 60,000 miles so they're more expensive in Texas than Connecticut
You're 15, you DONT NEED 2 cars... You already have a 2011 with like 2000 miles on it. What I see here Is a kid thats wants a camaro really bad that dosent have a car and is being a troll.... My opinion. Nobody posts for weeks and has $15,000 to spend, and dosent buy..
Maybe he will save his $$$ and get an fbody some day and we can help him with issues that arise.
Like I said before, I'm taking my time so I can get something that I really like instead of jumping in and getting something that I'm not happy with
