I'm not quite sure what you mean by "so special" but the SS package(by SLP) included a different hood with "ram air" aka functional hood scoop that made no difference to performance, and a different rear spoiler. Some of them included a performance shifter by Hurst and some of them had upgraded suspension parts, it really depends on what was ordered from the factory on the last few.

SLP offered several options that could be had, better shocks, floor mats, cat back, SS grill, etc. The only thing special about an SS is that they are numbered, but they are not any faster than a similarly optioned Z/28

Not to detract from who ever is trying to sell that car, but I would never buy a car that has been modded, unless it's a simple CAI or cat back. Typically when purchasing a used car, if it's highly modified you should assume that it's had the crap beat out of it and it's been run hard all of it's life, meaning that it's not going to be reliable. Obviously not all people that have a high horsepower car treat their car this way, but you can't trust something that you don't know. Just my .02.

that higly modded? it says "slp" on the door jam sticker so anything slp is from the factory. other then the slp stuff its just ported heads/throttle body,, crane cam and bhive valve springs for the engine mods.. tranny had dogface gears and kevlar clutch

but the slp mods are: long tube headers, suspension, mass air and exhaust

That's pretty modded man. The issue of buying stock vs modded is tricky. Even stock cars can the have the crap beat out of them and not be maintained very well. My car is pretty modded but the only time it gets beat on is at the track and I always change the oil every 2 months. So not all modded cars are owned by meat heads that just beat on them and never maintain them.

i consider highly modded when you put on a supercharger or nitrous.. i'm sure that puts a hell of alot more pressure to the engine then a cam, heads and throttle body does. but anyway, whats done to your car to put it in the 11.8's? could this car be in that general area? they previous owner said it ran a 7.6 in the 1/8 mile
