Default LS1 Upgrades

I'm new to the forums and i would like to know as much as i can about these cars. I looked around and i couldnt find what i was looking for. Is there a modification preference among owners of these cars? I have been a huge fan of camaros and i am so close to buying one. What are things i should look for and avoid. If you guys could give me good upgrades with what company offers the best option and how much things cost. Thank you.

Even though that is a pretty broad and generic topic. You need to start with making that puppy breathe, CAI, longtube headers, and exhaust, then for drag racing purposes put a higher gear ratio in that rear end. For the brands UUUMMM. CAI: K&N is great. Exhaust: is preference SLP, or magnaflow is what I would use. Headers: are Hooker, Kooks, or pacesetter. Gears go with what all the pro drag cars are using. I got motive performance and they work great and have a warranty. To find these brands just use google or google shopping.

Thanks for the response. I left it broad and open so people can come on here and tell me and others what they have done. Kind of like a one stop shop, so myself and others dont have to search all day to find something out, they can just come here.
After making it breath, what are people doing after that? Maybe cams, head work, F/I? Any input is appreciated.

A cam swap gets you huge gains on the engines. Head work is not needed untill you want over 400 rwhp (even then there are guys with over 400 rwhp on stock heads). Auto transcars see huge gains with a high stall torque converter.

I've only had manual cars. So how does a stall converter work, doesnt that make it so you can rev higher for a better launch? Or am i way off? lol. JD1969, what is an SLP lid and MAF? What all has to be done when you put a supercharger? What engine mods?

The slp lid is simply a replacement air lid that flows better than the stocker. You know how the stock one is kinda boxy and there's a couple baffles right behind it? The slp is more rounded and smooth and does not have these restrictive baffles! Thus, flowing better! A MAF is a Mass-Air Flow meter. It measures the incoming air and helps the engine adjust the feul/air ratio. That's what I've been told. I know it stands for Mass Air Flow sensor, just not exactly what it does. With a lot of superchargers, you don't NEED other mods, but you will benefit much more with your air intake and exhaust opened up so it can breath better! Plus, your bottom end can only take so much. I think the limit for forced air induction on a stock LS1 bottom end is around 6 psi, if I'm not mistaken.
