Default LS1 motor install

I recently bought a 2000 z28 with a blown motor. Motor and trans were out when I got it. Previous owner took the motor out the bottom.
I got a new motor and am just about ready to put it back togeather.
My question is, can I drop it in the top as a whole? ( motor & trans bolted togeather ) If so, what assecories can be on the motor?
Thanks Matt.

It can be done but you will need to pull the cooling system out to have the space to slide it under the firewall.

Never done a motor/trans in a 4th gen. But in a 3rd it's not worth the extra trouble trying to put them in as a whole (been there done that). Just put them in seperate, the trany to motor bolts suck but it's eaiser than trying to wiggle, push , pull, and cuss to get the whole assy. in.

The radiator and ac are removed. Im just trying to figure out the best way for my shop and tools. I dont have a lift, so going in the bottom may be a problem? Anyway. Thanks for the help.

Don't need a lift to do it from the bottom. Use SUV tall jack stands to lift up both the front and rear ends as high as possibe, then use the cherry picker to lift the front of the car up enough to roll the engine, transmission & front wheel asssembly under the front of the car.

It's quick & easy to drop the engine in from the top w/o crank pulley or bell housing.

I didn't even have to remove the hood or AC on my 02.

All of that stuff with jack stands is just a bit too shakey for me.
