Ok ive heard that the 01-02 LS1's heads the 241 castings were better then the 98-00 heads. Is this true, and is this why the 01-02's have a smaller cam?

 

The heads are only very slightly better, not enough that it really matters. The 01/02 cars got a smaller cam due to the addition of the LS6 intake manifold, in part. GM could not have the f body killing Vettes on a regular basis.
