Hooker Headers

2 Attachment(s)
This guy on craigslist is selling a used set of LT Hooker Headers. He states that he has had them for 2 years and that there in pretty good shape. He also stated that it has the air and the EGR but there blocked off right now. I attached a picture of them. Could you guys let me know what to look for or ask this guy before i make a move?

They look pretty rusted up for 2 years old. Mine are 3 years old and they show a tiny bit of corrosion but I hope they dont get like that ha. I would just look for any unusual bends in the metal, any places rusted thru and that the faces of the headers arent damaged or warped.

Eh, not worth much. Would only offer $50 because it doesn't come with a y pipe either.

Personally I would not buy any new exhaust parts that are not stainless steel -- but it all depends on weather you drive in and how soon you want to replace exhaust parts again...

What would you recommend for LT headers and Y pipe. I have a Corsa exhaust right now. Do I have to get a certain Y pipe that will hook up to that? I only drive the car in nice weather. I live in Michigan so from time to time I might get stuck in the rain as the weather likes to change every 5-10 minutes!

Pretty much any header/y pipe combo will work. BBK ceramics are really well made and have some of the best fitment for longtubes, and their y pipe has a quality merge to it.

I would stick with ones that are stainless for longevity -- who wants to buy twice? I was going to get Kooks, but their Y-Pipe merge does not match the quality of their headers, so it went with ARH which has quality headers and a better Y-Pipe merge...

If you're on a budget, look into Texas Speed's 1 7/8 LTs, I hear they're good for the $, but not that the bigger size is best assuming you will be doing some bigger mods later...

Ceramic coated will last just as long if you don't drive through snow and salt.

Texas Speed makes headers in 1 3/4" and 1 7/8" but they are usually sold out and on back order. They are of pretty good quality, but the y pipe is seperate.
