High idle problem

I recently cleaned my throttle body sprayed it with the carb cleaner and wiped it down and after I was done I put everything back together then my car started to idle at 1000 rpm u don't know why

I assume it holds steady at 1000rpm? Could be a few things I guess. Simplest would be to check/adjust the stop screw, check the throttle cable, or possibly could still be residue within the TB causing the blades to stick. I remove my TB often and the clip for the throttle cable on it's bracket sometimes loosens itself, this would allow the clip to free travel and either tighten or loosen depending on how the clip slides along the cable. If I don't notice it when I put it back on the tension is different. Seems that would be really tough to miss though, but usually it's a simple solution if you just took off the TB for cleaning. Or even a possible vacuum leak if the gasket slid or what not, just look for simple things first.

You may have dislodged crud that then fell into the IAC, blocking it's action. BTW they don't recommend to use the spray cleaners, because the solvents in the cleaners are hard on the rubber seals on the MAP,TPS and IAC.

Good point Psycho, I didn't think of that when I gave him my response. I usually take the housing off the TB when I clean it. Also after cleaning I blow it off with a pressure tank to clear out all the areas and make sure its dry.
