Engine Choice help please

i recently picked up a really nice clean black on black t top camaro for 1000 bucks, i was originally a ls1 6speed car. i have a complete lt1 out of a 97z with the full harness and cpu and i have a sbc 350 built and a sbc 400 built to put in it, i have several questions,
1. will the lt1 bolt up and is the harness the same
2. what is the difference between v6 and v8 transmissions
3 will a sbc engine with a carb fit in that car, i was told that it wont without a tunnel ram intake because of the cowl, i dont want to buy the intake but one of these engines are prefered.
thanks

The LT1 and LS1 harness can not be interchanged.
The V6 trany is weaker and i think the gearing is a little different.
Yes any SB will fit the only issue may be with hood clearance this will very depending on your carb and manifold set up.

The LT1 will give you more performance then a stock 400 however the wiring is not fun and will take some time. The carb engines are going to be the easier swap. You may want to consider selling off some of your engines and building up the engine you pick before the swap. Other wise just sell them all and save up for a LS1 ;)
