Its simple bro an electronic cutout is basically a y-pipe with an opening on one side that is free flowing and the other side just takes place of the natural exhaust. When the cut out is closed the exhaust runs it's normal path from the manifolds to the exhaust tips. When the cut out is open it allows the exhaust to run freely bypassing the muffler therefor giving you an open header sound = REALLY REALLY LOUD!!! Since it is electronic you control it with a switch mounted somewhere within the cab of your car. So when your cruising the streets on a normal day you have your normal exhaust but when your feeling a little speed happy and want to shut those ricers up just flip the switch and shut them up!!!!! Oh ya and I've read they add about 15hp

What do these do to the backpressure of the system ? Also where should you position the cutouts ?

My cut out is right underneath the passenger side door where the pipe runs back, I do not have an electronic opening, mine has a plate over the flange with 3 bolts, electronic would be sweet!

The back pressure stays at its optimal pressure cause thats what the Y-pipe is for besides there have been studies that a cut out incressed horsepower in a 2000 WS6 buy 15 horses thats not bad at all
