Default Any excuse...

From what I understand, the LS1 produces between 300hp and 350hp stock. Whereas the LS2 and LS6 are looking at 400hp.

I've been told you can get the LS1 to produce LS2/6 power by adding different mods. What sorts of modifcations would help me get there?

What about getting an LS2/6 and modifying that to increase power? Could a modified LS1 catch up to that well?

I'm just trying to find any excuse to throw an LS6 into a Camaro. It may not make financial sense but it has coolness factor.

The LS1 makes 350 or so. As for mods to catch up.. intake, more aggressive cam, heads, things like that.

Yes an LS1 can catch up, and fairly quickly.. but no matter how you look at it.. for each upgrade you put on an LS1, put it on an LS6 and your still faster with the LS6

an ls6 IS an ls1, it just has a different cam, heads, and intake manifold (but actually, 01 and 02 cars had the ls6 manifold).

so financially, you can just do a head swap to 243 castings and you will have an ls6, put a BIGGER cam in there, and you will have plenty of power. 243 heads is a very common mod for our cars

its very similar to running edelbrock heads on an older sbc instead of the stock heads.

I have all the specs in a book 3 feet behind me.... i should really make a writeup

the ls2 and 3 are built off very similar architechture.... they have very similar designt w/ a displacement bump. mod for mod they do better..... but its not difficult to produce alot of power w/ the ls1. mine is just shy of 500bhp NA and im really not that extensively modded. zoilus has another 70hp on me about and he is stock displacement still. big cube applications have seen single digit quarter mile times NA
