Default Air Lid

My dad has a used car rebuilding/selling business, and he brought in a 02 trans am with an air lid on it. The lid has the rough plastic texture and says LS1 Motorsports in fancy printing on it. The tube goes all the way back to the MAF. Anyone know anything about these lids? Are they good? Better than a SLP Lid? Also, It has a small clamp-on K&N-type filter clamped to a rubber hose in the right front part of the engine bay, near the brake components, the tube runs down the front of the car, and I can reach through the bumper and grab it, but I can't follow where it leads from there. Any Ideas as to what it is? Thanks!

The air lid is from LS1 Motorsports. Pretty much all aftermarket air lids give the same improvement. If there are any differences its very very minimal. The only thing that will give you a slightly better flow than an after market lid would be a CAI system like the Volant or the K&N.

That hose with the filter clamped on is the !Air if I remember. And when I got my car tunedwe disabled it. Anywhoo, it sucks in air when you first turn on the car, then after a little bit it stops.
