2000 SS no fuel pressure
I have a 2000 SS convertible with only 10,000 miles. I mostly sits in the garage. I pulled it out the other day and it would crank real fast but wouldnt fire. I tried again and it started. Now it will crank but im getting no fuel at the rail. I replaced the fuel filter and while the filter was off, I turned the ignition on and I could hear the pump working and it squirted out fuel. I installed the new filter and put a fuel pressure guage on the rail and it reads 0 psi.
Is the factory security the type that shuts off fuel to the motor? I tried both sets of factory keys and still nothing. Im hoping its not the fuel pump but with the low miles and no funny noises coming from the pump, Im guessing its something else.
ANY IDEAS?????

if it was security i dont think it would turn over. there is a fuel pressure regulator between the filter and the rail so that could be it. im thinking the fuel pump is pumping low pressure and is not enough to get through the pressure regulator. i could be wrong though so if u could get a gage on the line by the filter that would give u a better idea if its the pump or the regulator.

theres a number of things that could have went wrong, fuel pumps randomly just screw up like the way you described. There could be a problem with the hose, check clamps and make sure one didnt break or anything. Just my 2 cents.
