Default performance packages

Just wondering but Im in the process of buying a 01 camaro SS well been lookin at gettin some goodies for it after i get it.

went to the SLP site and they had performance packages and was wondering how you all feel about them.

PerformancePac, 2000-02 F-Car "Loud Mouth" Exhaust w/3.5" Slash Tips 350 HP[/b]

High-Flow Air-Box Lid (21045)
Cold-Air Induction Package (21033)

F-Body Smooth Bellows (23065)
Modular Loud Mouthâ„¢ Exhaust System w/3.5" Slash Tips (31042A)
Stage 1 Fender Badges (pair)
$725
Thats the package ive been looking at as of now.

Is it worth the price for it?

other things ive been lookin at is.

Thermostat, 160º LS1 1997-03 Camaro/Firebird/Corvette/4.8/5.3/6.0 Silverado/Sierra/SUV

Strut-Tower Brace, 1993-02 Camaro/Firebird V8 & 1998-02 SS

Subframe Connectors, 1993-02 Camaro/Firebird Coupe (Bolt-On)

Springs, Optional Eibach Package, 1993-02 Camaro/Firebird (set of 4)

RkSport CA800 Camaro Ground Effects Package
RKSport Carbon Fiber RKsport Gille

How does the stock shifter feel to most of you? Ive thought about the hurst shifter. If theres any other shifters that you may recommended do tell.

I have never worked with or modded a muscle car so sorry if I asked alot of noob questions let alone ask questions that have been asked. Ive searched around but doesnt seem to help any.

Also can anyone tell me the difference between short and long headers? Seems that the difference is clearance issue on the long headers. Is that the only difference?

My only goal is to keep the car as clean as possible stock wise but having some type of altered look. As well as atleast reaching 375-400hp.
And again sorry if i asked questions that have been asked. Ive been looking around for answers and still am.

Theres alot more I have still to ask about but for now this is what im lookin at gettin first.

Thanks.

Full bolt ons on a LS1 will get you in the 12's for the 1/4 mile...

I wouldn't get those perf. package as you can find the components for cheaper elsewhere individually

the only thing in that package that i would get is the lid, filter, and catback. the other stuff is pretty useless

the difference between longtubes and shorties are exactly that, the shorties are close to stock, mid length a little longer and longtubes are huge.

longtubes will give the most power and mine clear very well, its the y-pipe that gives me trouble.

to get the 375-400 horsepower you will need more, full-bolt ons with a small cam will do it with no problems or a little bit of laughing gas.

for the modified look you can get some nice wheels with some meats out back and a drop. im not a fan of body kits but if you like them then more power to ya

FYI...that exhaust is going to give you a lot of cabin drone and just sounds like a bunch of noise

Get all the boltons first: lid, ported throttle body, long tube headers, y pipe, and cat-back. Since you have an 01 you have the LS6 intake manifold and you dont need to change that. With all theboltons you should be getting around 320-340 RWHP, Now i would get a small cam from TSP or Thunder racing. Dont get a MS4, its too big for daily drivning and wont give you power under 4,000 Rpm.
