I just bought my car beginning of August so there are some things that need to be fixed on it. One of the things is my exhaust is leaking. I took it to Meineke and they looked at it. The cat was busted so I have to replace it. They came up with $247 to install and replace a new Magnaflow cat converter. I was wondering what a new one would cost for a '97 v6 Camaro so I could just do it myself. Or just give me a link. Thanks.

 

Also, do you think I can just patch it up? I think it's already a high-flow converter correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Check the Sumitt Racing site. You can get a Catco Or Magaflow Cat for less then $100 to fit a V6 Camaro. The chain Muffler shops like to make a small profit on a inexpensive part.

Also you can not patch a Cat.

 

if i was you i would buy the part and have them install it for you or go to another shop and have them install it, shops like that like to jack up prices on the parts they get

Use the Sumitt site and plug your cars info in for the correct cat. Or get under your car and check the dimensions. Order the wrong pipe diameter and you will be sending it back.
