How about trying a cat back from a Z/28? It would be cheap and flow really well for your 6. It won't be loud though, but it will allow you to put any muffler made for a Z/28 on your car.

and if you find someone who bought aftermarket catback, you may be able to get the stock system cheap

Check with your local exhaust shop, alot of people will leave their old parts and most shops just through them away, otherwise e-bay. The Z/28 cat-back will flow better because of the bigger diameter pipe.

JD...id the larger exhaust on the Z from GM, or do they use an aftermarket company stock?

I think the Z has a 2.5 inch over-the-axel pipe, the SS and WS6 cars got a three inch OTA pipe. Not 100% sure though

american thunder is product line of flowmaster. bang for the buck american thunder is the bast deal. if you want to go budget just replace the stock muffler because after the cats the ls-1 cars have a 3 in. pipe to the muffler and that what the kit has. as far as the v-6, have you ever heard a badass v-6? yeah thats what i thought. save your money.

YEAH ITS PRETTY HARD TO GET A 6 TO SOUND GOOD, YOU CAN DEFINATELY MAKE IT LOUND BUT U PROB WOULDNT LIKE IT. JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY ON EXHAUST AND MAKE IT LOOK SWEET THATS WHAT I WOULD DO, CAUSE AT LEAST WHEN PEOPLE NOTICE YOUR CAR AND WANT TO RACE JUST TELL THEM U DONT WANT TO EMBARASS THEM, AND THEN CRUISE OFF.

For all it's worth.e put a pair of 3" Hooker Aero Chambers on a 3.4 Pontiac GP with high compression & hot cam. The car sounds very close to a V8 at idle, but after 3000 RPM is sound more like a good six, something like a 911 Porsche instead of a buzzing rice burner. It is loud when floored and sets off the car alarms in the neighborhood
