ifi put a magnaflow and an air intake in my camaro rs 1990 v8 5.0 ? how much horse power will it add and will it take off a lot quicker than it did when it was stock?

 

it wont really be noticable. maybe 10hp overall. What alot of people dont realize is that while intakes and exhaust work (catback) are good first mods, they arent really big power mods. you wont notice any serious gains from them. however, they need to be done if u dont want to choke ur motor once you start doing bigger things like head work. all the head work in the world isnt going to be worth much if u cant suck enough air through that crappy stock intake or push it back out through a little catback.

yeah, but im saying u dont even have to be that specific. just realize that there is a cumulitive effect on parts. An intake on a stock motor wont do much at all, but if u have a motor with a huge cam, extensive headwork, increased displacement, and open headers, you may see a gain of 50hp or more before and after if u had a stock intake versus an aftermarket. some of the advertised specs are misleading

 

It's like polyurethane bushing on suspension. It's just makes a good platform for later things. They all work together! IN HARMONY... = )
