high flow cats

I was going to run my camaro's exhaust w/ deleted cats, but rumor has it that colorado is going back to the emission testing, and I dont want to end up having to put a cat on after I've got my exhaust set up how I want it.

Any preference to which high flow cats you would use?

I'm going to be doing pace setter headers, high flow cats, H pipe to 2 Borla XR-1 multicore mufflers dumped at the axle.

I'm also looking for high flow cats. I've got a borla catback and im planning on getting shorty headers, but i want high flow cats.

I wont need anything rated to flow more than 450 HP, I doubt my car will get that fast anytime soon lol

What does 'dumped at the axle' mean?saw a YouTube video with a v6 camaro with 2 borla XR1'S dumped at the axle nd sounded sick

dumped at the axle means instead of the piping going over the axle and having a muffler behind it with a tip out, it just sits before the rear axle without any pipes coming out of the muffler

Also that youtube video is what I'm basing my exhaust system off of haha.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Is there a cheater way to clean the cats. My 97 Z28 only has 88k miles but the code keeps setting.. Bank 12 catalyst above threshold .... I'm finding they are 500 a piece.... With that low of miles, I just can't think they are bad. Maybe dirty from sitting ???? Something else about this car. The temp, IMO does not get high enough, my thinking that would not allow the exhaust to get hot enough to burn the carbon out of them....

Could be that you are dealing with an excessively rich fuel mixture that the cats can't handle. With a scanner take a look at the upstream sensors and see what they are doing and reporting, also look at the fuel trim an see what the PCM is doing to try to correct the mixture
There is also a possibility that the down stream O2 sensors (after the cat) were removed or unplugged, in which case the code will keep setting.
