i have a 1996 camaro 3.8 and im wanting to cut the catalytic converter off and weld a pipe in what all do i need to do or get to make it were the computer want mess up if anyone could help me out thanks...

 

Just leave the poor Cat alone... Cutting it offf is NOT going to do anything for you power wise.

 

getting rid of the cat is not going to help your car's performance out at all. all you will suceed in doing if popping an engine light and would have to get your car's computer reprogrammed so it would not realize the cat is missing (if they can even do that with your 3.8) and that usually ain't cheap to do

not to mention that removing your cat is TOTALLY illegal

 

just get it gutted, you can almost double your cars hp, that stock cat is a power robing device put in by gm

 

back when aubrey hester did it on his 3.8 he was running like 500 hp after the gutted cat...

 

Thats all, I would have expected more Horsepower gains, It must have been the small 2 1/4 pipes that restricted it then.
