Default Complete exhaust.

Hey guys, I just bought some headers and next week I'm taking my car to have a whole new exhaust put on it. I'm putting 2 1/2 inch pipe with a cutout right after my Y pipe, then a single pipe going into one flowmaster muffler, and comming out dual. how's this sound?

That Sounds good. I'm running true dual Exhaust off my 79.

2 1/4 inch pipes with Glasspackes straight out the back.

I tried to get headers on mine once and it was a really tight fit and took me over an hour to get them lined up..

Then after I got them in there the ended up pressing right up against some wires..
So I had to take them off... Hooker Competition Headers..
If they would of fit I'd of gotten them for free!

Well I couldn't get dual on mine . I paid 150 for the headers and the guy doing my exhaust is putting them in for me along with brackets ect. The whole thing is gonna be $700.

WOW. Why couldnt you run dual?

I got mine done for $400.

Pipes cut, bent, installed and everything also included the glasspacks and the tips
I was getting the headers from a friend... $600 pair of headers and they wouldn't fit

There's not room for dual. I guess you could if you wanted like half inch ground clearance. This is complete with mufflers, tips ect. Glasspacks are cheaper too. Plus he's charging for header labor.

Edit: Man, I would have found a new place for those wires lol.

Why are you putting IM 2 1/2 pipe to the muffler?? Stock on 88 IROC-Z was 3" from the Cat.

Well everyone I asked said to go with 2 1/2. I have the 305 not 350, I dunno if it's different. Will the half inch matter? I'm also not gonna have a cat.

It is your choice, I am just pointing out what came stock. My car had a 305 TPI had a 3" Catback to the muffler and 2 1/2 outlets from the factory.

Well I already bought a 2 1/2 cutout and reducers so it's gonna be 2 1/2 pipe. It doesn't matter, I don't plan on doing any motor work so it should do me well.
