Which Carb?

I'm looking at a new carb and am just wondering what's going to be able to give me top performance from now until I have my car finished. This is the carb I have picked out, http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/1407K/10002/-1. So basically I'm just wondering what everyones thoughts are as to whether this is going to get the job done, or there is something else I should be using. Thanks in advance!

I like Edelbrock carbs. I just bought a 650 AVS for my Camaro. They're real easy to make adjustments to. Go for it.

I was pretty sure edelbrock is what i'm gunna go with. i'm just not sure which one i'm thinkin. so if a 650's gunna get the job done and last then that's what i'll probly go. Thanks

The Edelbrock (Carter) carb will make power, but it doesnt lend itself to fuel economy, you can get better results with a properly tuned quadrajet, but that is not an easy feat for most people.

Surpisingly a quadrajet is a good carb when set up right, the problem is most of them are not.

Hey guys, SPEED FREAK. I love the flames!!! killer i think that the wheels look good and suit the car, maybe you have the room to lower the arse end about an inch, I think you would see that the car looks really tough!!!! Just my to cents worth

Did i mis something as what sort of engine are you running, power, cam, radical or not?

If its a 350 sbc i would say that a quadrojet 4 brl is generally rated at 600 to 650 cfm, but is smoother power. Then a 650 double pumper is going to give you more go ., but for a hot track 350 would run atleast an 750 double pumper.
hope that this helps, cheers ben.

Go for that Edelbrock, much better carb.Have one on my 1968 with the 502 big block which has been running great ever since since the swap.It starts right away with the first start with the key.My 1968 had a Holley double pumper on it which went good bye, nothing but a piece of junk and flooded on me a lot.All Holleys are only good for racing applications.

it's a 400, right around that 300 mark, haven't dynoed it but i'm pretty sure its right there. it is cammed, i dont know the specs on it. i asked the guy who i got it from and he wasn't sure. but i want to swap it out anyway, get somethin with more of a lope to it :p
so basically i'm probly gunna be lookin at a 650 or 700 for the best setup.
thanks everyone,
Chase
