Question Borla 3.8 Install Tips? Midpipe?

Ok, so I am pretty sold on Borla for my '02 3.8 as the best V6 sounding/HP balance cat-back, so does anyone have any do-it-yourself install tips, or a write-up? After looking underneath, it looks pretty straightforward...

Also, anyone have any links to some stainless mid-pipe to connect to the cat-back to the cat and stock y-pipe to reduce restriction? I'm not ready to do headers and replacement y-pipe yet. (hoping FFF comes out with their CIA manufactured set of V6 long-tubes!) ;-)

TIA

Are you not buying the whole catback? I'm kind of confused as to what you are asking.

FFF has already started making the LTs for them. And it will connect to your stock cat... So what are you asking? You just weld it in a few places and tada. Fix up the hangers and you're ready -_-

If you're not skilled with a welder, get somebody else to do it. Especially since you obviously have no experience with exhausts

Yes, buying the whole cat-back, but there is some significant stock restrictions beyond what comes in the kit from Borla and after the cat. See this attached pic and reference:
http://www.camarohomepage.com/project/part1.htm

As you can see, it is 3 in. coming out of the cat, but you would have to chop that little snake section and do something custom to avoid the reductions... My guess is most folks never bother with this custom fabrication, but I wondered if someone already sold a nice stainless section for this restriction all ready to go?

The exhaust I have went right up to the cat, so I didn't run into this issue. Though the kit I got was for a '93-'95 Z28. Not sure what most folks do for that, other than run up to the exhaust shop, and have them fab something up. That or they just leave it alone.

What brand/model exhaust did you get? On your exhaust, did you connect right up to the 3in. part coming off the cat?

Edelbrock. Yes it came right to the cat. If I remember right we had to cut a little off.

So did you weld onto the cat or just clamp it, or both?

Welded it. The rest of the system we clamped together, got it lined up and whatnot, and then welded it.

Umm it should replace that... Considering they replaced it with the catback... The borla catback goes right up to the cat....
