Air Silencer?

I was wondering where the air silencer is located on my 94 camaro's intake.

Air silencer? Are you talking about the resonater on the intake? aka the "donkey dong"

is it what connects to your throttle body and curves left with the raised ribs?

RE: Air Silencer?

no, the one with the raised ribs is just the bellows type thing so your intake has some room to move so you aren't breaking stuff. It doesn't silence anything, the "donkey dong" is the long tube that runs down toward the bottom of your car just behind the radiator. It comes off of the intake before the bellows piece and it's there to reduce intake noise.

will it sound better with it off?

Depends on what "better" sounds like to you, needless to say, it will substantially increase intake noise. I prefer a good exhaust note instead of intake, but to each his own.
