the cowl wont be for induction, that kinda stopped with carburated cars. for u the cowl (if functional) will be for cooling purposes, but on a stock car thats not that important..... it just looks really cool

keep the stock intake setup. your car doesnt have an air "box", but instead it has a filter tray with an air lid. No need to replace anything as this setup is pretty good already. You can get a new lid, i personally have the SLP lid, they are all about the same. I dont know the exact figures, but im pretty sure there are ls1 cars deep into the 10s NA using the stock intake tray with an aftermarket lid.

If you are getting a new hood, you dont have to change anything. If you want to add a tiny bit more power....its not going to be much more...you can get the air induction to fit the SS hood. If you want a cowl hood...you dont have to upgrade anything onyour engine....it is just a hood for the car.

i think hes set on the cowl hood (btw, is it a long cowl, like up against the wind sheild, or does it just go to the ventilation vents?) the functional SS hoods require some work to make them actually functional, but i believe they may come with a lid that fits up to the ports on the hood. i maybe wrong tho. btw, are the factory SS's functional, or is it only the aftermarket hoods that actually bring air up to the lid?

The factory SS hood is functional if you have the correct factory induction...If you buy the aftermarket hood andwant the hood for styling, you dont have to worry about that.
