2001 v6 Exhaust Help

So I just bought this 01' base v6 camaro in October with only 30k miles on it and am looking to do some serious performance modifying. I think Iv'e settled on going with exhaust as the first mod. I've heard most of the systems available and really only like the Borla sound. However, the borla complete catback system which is what I'm looking to get is out of my price range. I'm wondering if I can buy the right Borla muffler to fit another set of catback pipes. Looking for 3" setup. Will this get me the same Borla sound? And is it possible to do this. Any and all advice or opinions welcome. Thanks!

What you are talking about would make it sound similar, but I don't know how close. If you look at how the pipes run on the Borla as compared to other systems, you will see that you will need a different muffler than like what comes with the Borla system.

Who cares what the muffler looks like... It's all about the grin factor. People trash Flowmaster's on here all the time but for the price, I've not found a better sound.
