Hello! I am new to Camaro Forums. I have owned my 1974 Camaro LT, ZB, 350-400, 4 bbl, 4 speed Saginaw with Hurst linkage, 4:11 Positraction since 1979. 126472 miles. Engine rebuilt at +/- 97K miles. Never wrecked. Seldom driven in winter. Parked in Iowa and never started again since 1999. Parked outside in 2011. I want to sell, but have no idea of the value, so I have no idea of what the asking price should be. Can anyone help assess the value? Some photos attached. Thank you. Mark

Not much I'm afraid with that much rust,values vary a lot depending where in the country you are and asking prices are all over the place on those late second gens.
Around here in that far gone condition you'd be lucky to get $1000,I wouldn't give more than $500 for it as a parts car.
1974 LT value restored would be far less than what it would cost to bring that one back I'm afraid.

What is a 350-400. Are you thinking someone switched it over to a 400? A lot of the value would be dependent on the underneath. If the frame rails are gone then it is not really save-able but it is still a parts car. . It is a shame the 74 quarter panels are one year only and no one makes them aftermarket. You could use a 1/2 skin and fab patches to make it work but that is a lot of money unless the person does ffab work.

If you find the right guy that needs the front end or the metal around the rear window it could be worth more to him then to someone trying to restore it. You could start higher in hopes that someone local needs those parts then drop the price if it does not sell in a few weeks. You may well end up in the $1000 range but I would start more like $2500. I have been on the lookout for a 74 Type LT stick. That was my first car (well my first street legal.one) In good condition they are not cheap.

BTW where are you at? Just the general area. If you were near me I would take a look at.it. I am in Eastern PA

Thank you for your response. What is a 350-400? I'm not sure, but as you see on the attached photos, it is labeled as such. My impression was that it is a 350 with 400 heads. Thank you for your input regarding value. At least now I have some idea. I bought the car in eastern Nebraska where we live and parked the car on my property in western Iowa. Thanks again for your help.

To bad you are so far away. I started thinking I would drive 50 miles to get it but I already talked myself into driving 100 miles if needed. 2 days each way and $700 in gas if just too much.

That must be a standard tag based that covers other cars not just camaros. GM did not put the 400 in a production camaro and they sure did not put 400 heads on a 350, The 400 head will fit but the 400 has steam holes over the long term if could cause head gasket issues.

Fun fact while GM did not put a 400 in a production cars they did put them in COPO Camaro ordered by the military. The story I got was the military police in Japan order 1974 camaros with the 400 due the the hilly roads they had in Japan. Only a few of the cars made it back to the US and you can tell them because the COPO cars had a Japanese vin number and had to get a new VIN assigned when they where shipped backed to the US,.
