I have 87 camaro it has a 3 wire connector for the altenator, I am in Germany and parts are hard to come by. I am putting a 2 wire altenator- the 3 wire plug, has red, brown and brown/white wire. the two wire has only brown and red wire. I hooked the red wire but am unsure as to how to handle the other two wire. Is there anyone who can assist me on this?[:-]

 

you should have markings on your altenator. B would be battery of course. S would be stator and it should be a wire that comes off the starter solenoid with a fuseble link on it and the F is field which shouild be the brown one and that goes into the fuse panel and to the ugnition switch. The terminal that is make with an I orL (i think) does not need to be used.
To make sure though you might be able to look up diagrams at AUTOZONE.com and look under the repair section.
