hey im upgrading from a 3.4 to the lt1 is there anything to look for before purchasing....its a 97 z28 w/ 136k

 

Your buying a used 14 year old sports car. You need to check everything. That car can be anything from someones baby you could hope in and drive anywhere to complete pile that should be laid to rest.

You want to verify the transmission shifts nice cold and hot. You want to do a coolant pressure test. Check the oil for any thick additives. Check the tranny fluid for additives. Remove the oil cap and look for signs of moisture. When driving pump the brakes and make sure the car keeps going straight. There is just too much to list maybe you should have a trusted mechainc take a look at it for you.
