Trying to save on a starter

Default Trying to save on a starter

I have a bad starter on my 1985 305 z28 I also have every little money. So im trying to get a used or rebuild one so I'm trying to figur out if any starter for a small block will work with my engine, any ideas?

Use autozone.com or summitracing.com
Put in different vehicles and compare part numbers. There are different size GMstarters but they will all bolt to any GM engine.
Application also depends on the flywheel

what is wrong with your starter? you can fix a lot of problems by replacing the parts that are bad, when I was younger and just starting out I would rebuild most everything myself, its not hard

Yeah, if it's just the solenoid that's bad they are relatively easy to change. Or you might thumb your way through the phone book and find someone that rebuilds starters and alternators. Might be a better way to go.
