RE: timing mark
Which motor? the timing marks are typically at the harmonic balancer. There may be a piece of metal that pokes out away from the motor, if it comes to a point and that point is over the pulley then that is it. Are you going to be adjusting the timing?

RE: timing mark
will i have to remove any parts to see it. cause its not exactly out in the open while next to the harmonic balancer or watever. the ac condenser, water pump, and alternator all shadow the crank. i will check tomorrow to see if its there. cant believe ive never seen that before. ever, on any engine. not lookin hard enough i guess. cant see somethin unless you look for it. i had a 89 dodge spirit for a while, and for a long time the engine mounts never stood out and i didnt notice em until i replaced them. now it was like thats the first thing i saw when i opened the hood.

RE: timing mark
you may have to get a flash light, yours will probably be black and dirty, most are. .youll see a groove in the harmonic balancer . It's a good idea to markthat with a white paint pen. I cant find a good pic so I may have to snap some for you.

RE: timing mark
If possible, jack the car up, put it on stands, and have someone bump the starter. You would be able to see it and get to it better from underneath. Then you can clean it and apply some white paint for later use.
