Temp Light 0n 69 SS 350/300 goes on
Hello all
Just recently the temperature gauge on my 69 SS 350/300 goes on intermitantly. If I stop for gas and restart the engine after only a 10 minute drive to the gas station the light goes on for maybe a half mile after leaving the station. Sometimes driving down the street at 40-50 it just goes on and then goes out a few minutes later.
Changed coolant last fall, engine does not boil over or discharge any coolant through the overflow tube. The radiator is very hot all the way across the top and about 1/3 of the way down and then gets gradually cooler to the touch for the lower 2/3. The clutch fan appears to be ok. If I try to spin the blades it only rotates a very short distance. Car does have factory air and automatic.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I plan to install gauges in the near future rather than rely on the idiot gauges.
Thanks!
Dennis
