Default Swaphappy

So I know this is a really old question that's been asked countless timws but I need to swap out the v6 in my 2000 camaro and I want to do a 5.3 swap as I have one sitting in a yukon that I don't use anymore. My question is do I have to replace the whole front clip? Trans support? Will it even fit? I know this can be a retarded question but it's my first camaro and my first car. Thank you in advance for any help. NOTE NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS PLEASE THANKS

v6 swaps to V8s are very involved, You will need a PCM and a trans out of a V8 Camaro. There is a very detailed parts list in a thread. I will look for it.

So the 4l60e bolt up pattern isn't the same? and wouldn't the pcm from my donor vehicle work? I have the entire donor vehicle

you have a 2000 camaro donor? trans is spicific to a v6 camaro so is the pcm. why not go with a series 3 3.8. not all that costly and gain 20hp.

No, misunderstood you, I have a 2001 yukon with all the ecu and all components I have a series 3 3.8. And while it's fun it's still not enough power for me I have had it up to 125 easy already but never maxed out

If you have a running V6 it is really not worth it. You can find a blown LS1 car for less then you could buy the parts needed for the swap and just put the 5.3 in that car.
